I've looked at it.. but honestly like running my own mail server (once it's fully configured) as it doesn't cost me any extra no matter if I send 1 or 100,000 a month.

Well Zoho Mail is free for 10 users (+15 with referral sign ups = 25 users). I have favour portability for emails with 3rd parties so I can create, migrate or destroy a server and emails are always online and available throughout it all :)

Ahh.. but you see.. that's the issue. For my Bent Bike forum, I'm offering branded email (yourname@thebent.bike) to users that meet certain requirements. So, as you can tell, it would get rather expensive. :nailbiting:

I am probably going to expand that to the other two sites also (servinglinux.com and twowheeldemon.com).

Yeah would be expensive.. then again the management of such will grow as your local email users and usage requirements grow too :)

Right now it's fairly easy. But of course, I admit I'm a little wacko1.gif

It wouldn't be that hard to write an add-on that extends the user registration to automatically add them to the SQL DB for the virtual accounts... for XenForo or IPS. But right now no need for me to invest in that kind of an add-on as my user base is small.

in that case to bring thread back on point, might want to test Centmin Mod .08 beta 03 latest on test server first and not live :D

I've moved over to the latest on the live site.. just not enabled the CURL stuff yet. I'm about to grab a RamNode VPS tonight/tomorrow to set up as a test VPS for some of my nodes (if I don't just grab a $42 SYS server and throw ProxMox on it).

basically with 2 commands you will install Centmin Mod .08 beta 03 + setup a new site/nginx vhost :D

    Code:
    curl -sL http://centminmod.com/betainstaller.sh | bash
    nv -d yourdomain.com -s y -u ftpusername

Well, just broke down and grabbed an E3-SAT-3 (the SSD's were out and I didn't want to keep waiting - and I really don't need SSD).
It's installing CentOS 7.1 right now and as soon as it's burned out, I'll be trying out the BETA of CentMin on it.

haha great minds... i was just looking at E3-SAT-3 myself - thinking of setting it up as the new centminmod.com site's US East location in the new cluster I am building for it :)

None of my sites are really busy enough to justify SSD... but I CAN justify the additional storage space easily. Keep backups from one server on the other and vice-versa. Then duplicate those to the server and NAS at the house.

Busily installing the latest CentMin now.. debating on another IP or two or twelve.

Just finished the install on the latest centOS and when I run the ./centmin.sh I am getting this
    Code:
libkmod: kmod_module_new_from_loaded: could not open /proc/modules: No such file or directory
Error: could not get list of modules: No such file or directory
    Was installed with the
    Code:
    curl -sL http://centminmod.com/betainstaller.sh | bash
    process.

which os template did you use one with SYS custom kernel or distro kernel.. i think SYS custom kernel might be different in some way... i've only ever used SYS with the distro kernel which is unmodded

    or virtualised ? OpenVZ ? KVM ? Xen ?

Whatever their (SYS) default CentOS is - this is my first rodeo with dealing with setting you a SYS from scratch - so I guess it's their template. Gotta figure out how to do a REAL minimal install.

The plain one is the one I selected. I chose the CentOS 7.1-1503 (64bits)
