    80%/4 cpus = 20% or 0.20 cpu load :)

    but where are you using 80% ?

    yeah for DDOS protection Linode not suited.. maybe they'll add DDOS protection later as lots of web hosts have started to offer such out of necessity

    edit: oh you mean from Stats | Centmin Mod Community ? 0.88 cpu load /4 cpu threads = 0.22 cpu load :)

    Oh thanks for correcting me :D
    Japan server would be the best for me if I will use Linode.
    But so far, Hong Kong and Singapore server still the fastest for my visitors.

    Have a few clients looking at Linode as their new web hosts but the max 20TB bandwidth on highest plan was a concern, so I asked Linode support what options are available beyond 20TB bandwidth assigned to a Linode VPS. Basically, Linode has a pooled bandwidth policy, so your available bandwidth is an aggregate total of all your Linode VPS' plans bandwidth quotas it seems.

    So if you need more than 20TB bandwidth, you need to launch a new Linode VPS to add to your aggregate pool or live with overage charges at US$0.10/GB or US$100/TB. So it does look cheaper to just start a new Linode VPS instance - 1GB Linode VPS comes with 2TB of bandwidth to add to your bandwidth pool at US$10/month or US$5/TB as opposed to overages at 20x times that price at US$100/TB.

    So bandwidth pooled additional plan prices seem to go up per TB for plans >1GB Linode, so they range between US$6.66/TB to US$10/TB all the way to US$16-48/TB depending on Linode plan chosen. So to get 20TB extra monthly bandwidth cheapest option would be to launch 10x 1GB Linodes each with 2TB bandwidth so 10x2 = 20TB extra bandwidth added to your account bandwidth pool at a cost of US$10x 10 = US$100/month.

    For instance, I currently have a 2GB and 4GB Linode VPS (2GB staging test server and 4GB live for this forum) so according to their pricing plans I have 3+4TB of bandwidth available = 7TB. According to my log in stats it's at

    Code:
    22GB Used, 7554GB Remaining, 7576GB Quota

    Good to know Linode is on top of things, just got this email. Reminds us always have additional remote backups - I have Linode backup enabled as well as rsnapshot remote backups every 4hrs, daily, weekly and monthly and mysql data/file backups every 8 hrs to a remote location too :D

    Moved Coin Talk to Linode $80 plan from DigitalOcean $80 plan. Needed the extra storage.

    Very pleased with performance. Future may see me moving to Linode on all sites (except extremely small ones).

    I remember my last comparison for Disk I/O
    DO = 130mb/s
    Linode = 800mb/s

    Big difference :)
