    After reading the below thread, I asked myself, is there any hosting business online which offer excellent deals for 1, 2, or 3 year commitments?

    ssdnodes.com upto 91% discount on KVM VPS until May 31, 2018

    Personally, I was thinking about locking up my hosting for the next three years and looking for an excellent deal.

    Please list any great long term offers or business that offer discounts for long term deals.

    It's a risky move depending on the web hosts reliability and long term sustainability.

    I was a customer of Wiredtree hosting for 9+ yrs and alot of my clients I work with were referred to and stayed with Wiredtree for 5-7+ years. Back then I would of easily forked out for 1, 2, 3+ yr commits for discounted Wiredtree plans/servers if they offered them as I had 110% trust in them. But then they got bought out by Liquidweb and support, reliability and trust went out the window WiredTree Acquired by LiquidWeb | Web Hosting Talk. Everyone of my long term current clients I worked with on Wiredtree servers left and moved to new web hosts I recommended. As you can see from that WHT thread, those that stayed after Liquidweb migration, weren't at all happy with service/support they received. So even the best web hosts may change over time !

    With that said, most dedicated server web hosts offer discounts for up to 12 months at least. Some VPS web hosts do the same - check out their carts for discounts or ask their sales.

    3yrs is a long time these days. Even ssdnodes I only pre-paid 12 months as 36 months is too long :)

    Yea, I am a little weary about paying 3 years. But looking at the ssdnodes top 3year plan and comparing it to the Linode $40 plan, anything after 13.5 months is free. If ssdnodes closes in the next year, I would have paid full price, otherwise I get 22.5 months free.

    Even the yearly price is great. I like the 16GB X-Large which is $10 yearly. I believe that is what you got.

    Yeah depends on your needs.. you really can't compare to Linode - just the resilence of Linode's storage/snapshot/backup layer is worth the premium :)

    My needs are in layers. My main sites need the linode / OVH / etc. I'm moving my smaller sites to individual VPSs and my largest site to a small dedicated server. So, the cheaper VPSs are a great option.

    I got few OVH Dedicated Server from Singapore, prepaid for 1 year and got 50% off.
    Same for several OVH Singapore VPS I got.

    Was that a promo / black friday price? From what I can see OVH doesn't discount dedicated servers.

    I signed up for the X-large for 3 years. It is a gamble with all VPS services. However, I read of slow performance of servers and lack of support at most of the large cloud service providers.

    SSDNodes has grown and is now a substantial VPS provider. I have had problems with small firms due to change of management/ownership and lack of support. Support can to from excellent to terrible because the 'staff' may consist of one person on duty at a time so that is a new person is hired the support can go to heck.

    If a provider is small and does heavy promotion, they may over-allocate their virtual servers. Theoretically, a server can load up their servers at several times the physical level so long as they do not surpass the peak rate period level. If they load up customers that have very similar usage patterns, such as for game servers which get loaded from the late afternoon to 1:00-2:00 am, the servers cannot support as many vps as when there is an evener balance of user profiles. A larger service could have better load-balancing. I think its now possible to do dynamic load balancing based on usage.
