The must want to make room for their v6 processors. It's interesting to see that the - an example - SP-32 with the older processor is actually more expensive that the v6 processor.

Their choices were really limited during Black Friday deal. Only 1 enterprise server was offered.

My deal for the gaming 32 server was a good deal at the time but now it's the same price as soyoustart with the addition of an extra 240GB drive (sys only offers 1 240).

    Transfer time works two ways.

    1. If the new server is more expensive than the old server, you get $$ credit toward your new server.
    2. If the new server is cheaper than the old server, you get time (days) transferred.

Just submit a support ticket letting them know you're getting a new server and you want to have the time / money transferred. They will approve it, buy the new server, cancel your old server, and they submit it to billing at which point you get a billing gesture (or something like that) from OVH.

    So there are options.

    I'll try :).
Does the 50% a lifetime discount?

I got the discount for the life of my gaming server I purchased on Black Friday.

When they offer deals like this it normally has a life of a few months before it's the same price on soyoustart.

I expect that most of the 50% deals will be on cloud offerings with 1 or 2 dedicated servers in the mix. But if it's anything like Black Friday, the dedicated servers were quickly sold out. I happened to be there right when it started and got 2 gaming servers.

The only thing that don't like about sys is that they don't allow me to increase the disk space

well the operative word is up to 50% discount so some discounts will be less heh. Would love to see some deals on 6700K, 7700K and 1230v6 and 1270v6 to better be able to test Centmin Mod's alternate GCC 5.3 and 6.2 and later GCC 7 support for newer cpus. Can dream :)

and oh not to forget OVH has been playing with AMD Ryzen 7 too !

They already moved a lot of the older servers over to sys. There are a lot of the enterprise servers over there, just checked.

Yes but not enough disk space on any. Biggest ssd disk size is 300 GB (SYS-IP-1S)

Those were the base options on OVH until they updated and starting to offer multiple disk options on each server. But yea, depending on what you're doing, those are pretty small HDs. I guess they figure if you're starting out, those will be enough.

Oh really? Does it happen after a year? I imagine it would be difficult to move all the data to new disks

I have no idea about moving data. That's what they offered at OVH, now they have multiple options for disks. Not sure about adding more disks. They do have NAS so I suppose you could expand with that. Storage has never really been a concern of mine. I've always had plenty of space for my sites.

It seems they will post new offers in the following days. However I'd like them to say when they will do it. Can't believe only those servers are offered with a discount for the following week.
