Linode Linode users - thought about alternatives ?

    OVH Public Cloud is working well for me so far. Reduced disk IO isn't an issue, as the sites hosted on there are the lower volume sites I host for people. High traffic / usage goes onto one of my dedicated servers.

    as yes UltraVPS is a VersaWeb company IIRC they should be in Las Vegas and I don't recall pings that high when I had a VersaWeb server Versaweb Dedicated Servers (Las Vegas) | Centmin Mod Community it was around 150-180ms for me to Australia - maybe a bit more for your though. Never got to try UltraVPS they don't reply to my attempts at contact regarding my sign up issues https://community.centminmod.com/posts/20011/ so I took it as a sign.

    yeah 2k iops is still relatively good for lower volume sites.

    terrible speed for Linode today
    datacenter frankfurt :
    [ <=> ] 11,469,606 7.49KB/s
    i think Linode infrastructure still have problem

    maybe they're rate limiting visitors /server connections from certain countries ? do you get better speed from other geographic locations to that Frankfurt DC ?

    i test it from sweden and from poland and from france its the same speed almost

    ah then definitely their Frankfurt DC specific at their end.

    Hopefully they roll out DDOS mitigation to their other datacenters like they are doing for Atlanta DC.

    must be geographically restricted.. as I just logged into my Linode manager fine :)

    They are defo doing something. I can't connect to it via my digitalocean proxy VPS either.

    in the status.linode.com everything see fine.ok its reboot now i will transfer to my backup server till we will see what they will do

    strange i don't recall Frankfurt DC being attacked ?

    yeah could be, make ask Linode ?

    bad part is once Atlanta DC has DDOS migitation, the attackers might turn to the other DCs for their attacks :(
