Didn't know MXroute before, thanks for that. Picked up the lifetime promo for a few of my personal domains.
Delivery of mails looks very promising. A 10/10 score from mail-tester.com and no leaking ip's afaik.

Just be aware that you need some technical know-how on how to set it all up (skim/spf/dmarc/cname for name mailserver)

 

Yes, Protonmail was rock solid for years.
The problem is that: Protonmail, the privacy friendly e-mail provider, provides IP address of activist after order from Swiss authorities. And then the credibility is gone. First, the company indicates that it does not log anything. After which, it appears that they do indeed log and provide information. Supposedly only for selected users. But that is difficult to determine. It seems to me that they log everyone and only forward selected users' info.

Mailbox is nice if you are looking for a privacy-friendly alternative to G Suite.
It supports DNSSEC and DANE/TLSA. It is removing any metadata from all outgoing mail. And the e-mails contained in the encrypted inbox are encrypted using PGP.

I switched over to proton a couple of years back. Visionary gets you 10custom domains, vpn etc. yes it costs over “free”. Not as white as the driven snow as we thought, but not the yellow snow where the huskies do go of others.

it’s not as easy a setup as g-suite was. Plus on mobile at least, it’s kind of one inbox for multiple domains. So quite easy to send from the wrong one.

Still have a problem though, as I left my archive on g-suite.

I have a preference for eu services as people still send me personal info over email. No amount of head banging seems to get through, retired professionals /sigh/

There is an opportunity here for others to gain, eg mxroute, zoho. It’s also an opportunity for them to fail under new unplanned load.

I gave up on google as far back as angularJS 2, which wasn’t going to be compatible, till it was, then … I love change, but not unpredictability.

Take what I can, where I can, when I can, but not depend upon it.

I can't recommend Fastmail.
Nice slogan: Fastmail: 'Stop Paying for Email with Your Privacy'. Fastmail is located in Australia. Australia is a member of the 5 eyes. And so absolutely not recommended when it comes to privacy or in this case privacy and mail.
