Can you use unlimited email users and domains on the $6/month Google/GSuite Workspace email plan?

Google Workspace is US$6/user/month per domain. But you can use user and domain alias so users and domains point to the primary domain/user that could as one user/month.

That's expensive. I haven't had much issues with free Zoho Mail's plan arriving to inboxes.

I read that Zoho had a bad reputation, so I was using Namecheap's $8/yr. It's integrated with privateemail.com -- my opinion of it is "so-so; gmail is better".

I recently found this free option that you can pair with gmail, etc., which is fantastic:
    I also found
But "As of March 31, 2023 we enforced a new blanket spam rule to protect our users and service." - no .info allowed.

Very interesting! Would be a great option for small hobby sites.

But, the emails from your domain are still being sent from one of those other services. And, if those services are offering free SMTP servers, even with fairly low limits, I would be worried about deliverability issues.

Although I don't recommend multiple services/connections for only 1 or a few "small hobby sites."
As often recommended, MXRoute is highly recommended. Every so, offers often big discount as well. Especially around: Black Friday. So keep that in mind, if you start low end site's.

No problems with Zoho for me for some sites https://community.centminmod.com/th...in-com-email-provider-setup-information.3641/
Yeah I just use Amazon SES for all SMTP emails for forums and server emails outbound. Let 3rd party experts handle mail deliverability issues :)
Yup MXRoute has been good for me too from a few years ago got Black Friday deals https://community.centminmod.com/threads/using-mxroute-com-for-yourdomain-emails.22409/. FYI, they have a deal with larger storage right now too see https://lowendtalk.com/discussion/187043/mxroute-summer-2023-sizzling-deal-only-40-year. But for @domain emails only not for transactional emails like forum mailings etc due to low rate limits

Thanks for the tip! I'm on the lookout for such a service with one of my domains.

You're welcome. Compared to MXRoute, if you have less than 12x domains with 1 user email accounts or 1x domain with <10 email users, then Spacemail might be comparable. Beyond that, MXRoute pricing with Black Friday specials might be cheaper :)

Unfortunately, Microsoft has stopped supporting a custom domain with a Microsoft Office family package: i.e. You can no longer change or add users, or the custom domain will expire.

For 60$ a year this was ideal to use a custom domain mail for max. 6 family members,
with 1 TB digital space and also an Office license. For private use (school children etc.) perfect!

The annoying thing. I need an Office license anyway (with school-aged children). And since all the other notable vendors are unfortunately trying to push through not just mail but also other online services like online space, teams equivalent, vpn and all sorts of other crap. Resulting in unnecessary overlap, and unnecessarily expensive..

They (Google, Proton etc) all do it unfortunately the same way and it's the new revenue model. Nowhere is just more mail only available for multiple users.

MXRoute lets through too much spam and is not recommended for a semi-important domain (Using it myself, only for some low level domains).

I was thinking of Gsuite, Proton, Exchange Online or Mailbox.org

But everywhere they slide in extra services that I don't use, but where the company believes they can raise the price substantially every year because it offers so many extras (which I then don't use anyway).

Previously before Microsoft Office family, I have used Mailinabox and Mailcow, but because of the IP reputation, you are busy every day writing to various companies, again and again that your mail does not belong in their SPAM box. This has nothing to do with SPAM, but more that they try to push everyone to the big 3. Using IP reputation as an excuse. But the latter is my opinion.

    Perhaps someone has some tips?

Wow didn't know that. I find Microsoft Officie/Email offerings confusing - just to many options to follow heh.

I don't use Officie in the cloud, choose digital to-own copy license. Alot of sites offer these licenses for cheap it seem.

Yeah Google Workspace/Gsuite if you need a whole bundle. But Proton does still offer email only for Mail Plus. MXRoute has been fine for my non-important domains, not spam right now but maybe because they are non-important domains heh. Did read on Twitter MXRoute announced new spam system switch over so might get better.

If I didn't need Google Workspace and needed something better than MXRoute, my pick would be Proton Mail Plus at least.

It's been around for quite a long time, but Microsoft apparently doesn't earn enough from it. They want you to pay per user, which earns the company a multiple.

I would love to, but then I have to buy an additional digital-to-own copy license, since a cloud-based Office 365 is mandatory at the primary school.

Proton Mail Plus, does not support multiple users. Then you would have to switch to Proton Family with the whole scale of additional digital services I already have. It's really a problem as a consumer. If you don't look critically, in no time you have 5x digital storage, 5 x a vpn service, 5 x their own varriant on Teams. It really is a mess these days in consumer software/service land.

I haven't made up my mind yet and am going to ponder for a while what my next steps will be.
