Hi

I just update my ipb forum and i got this:

You do not have the cURL PHP extension loaded or it is running a version less than 7.36...
Any ideas if with centminmod i am getting cURL and which version?

Don't know how to fix this....

Yeah, the main issue is that if curl isn't available it uses sockets.. which is slower apparently.

yes recompile php after installing the curl updated versions via addons/customcurl.sh

oh seems without curl >7.36 some issues occur for paypal billing [4.1.7] PayPal Billing Agreements Error - Knowledgebase - Invision Power Services

An issue has been identified in IPS Community Suite 4.1.7 where in some server environments it is not possible to use Billing Agreements in Commerce. If Billing Agreements is enabled, customers who try to check out using PayPal with the "" will see an error message saying "There was an error processing the payment. Please try a different payment method or contact us for assistance."

This issue only happens if the server does not have the cURL PHP extension installed, or the version of cURL installed is less than 7.36.

To patch this issue, upload the attached file to the location specified, overwriting the file that is already there: system/Http/Request/Sockets.php

I think we've found the issue, and I updated my bug report. This is a slightly modified version of my post in the growing support thread:

Turns out… the socket code fails frequently when curl is:
A) Not Installed.
B) Is older than 7.36 (CentOS only has 7.19).

Fortunately, it seems this version check can be overridden by setting the constant FORCE_CURL (set to false by default) to true.

They had supplied a script that failed about 60% of the time. We added the FORCE_CURL to the script and it works every time in my testing.

So, we've added this to our constants.php file:

In testing, this has resulted in the software embedding videos every time I try.

We believe this is a bug in IPS, and encourage others who are experiencing this issue to give this a try if you meet condition A or B (or both) above.

could be their source names have changed etc...
