Please fill in any relevant information that applies to you:
    • CentOS Version: CentOS 7.6 64bit
    • Centmin Mod Version Installed: 123.09beta01
    • Nginx Version Installed: 1.19.2
    • PHP Version Installed: 7.3.21
    • MariaDB MySQL Version Installed: 10.3.24
    • When was last time updated Centmin Mod code base ? : Fresh install
    • Persistent Config: Just lets encrypt

    Hello everyone.

Just installed a fresh version of CentminMod. I'm trying to add my domain with LetsEncrypt. After I pass the options for LetsEncrypt it asks to make sure the A records are set. I continue and it shows my IPv4 address for example.com and then my IP address for www.example.com.

However, the www.example.com is showing a different ip address than whats on my server. I double checked my DNS a records and I have no idea where this stray IP address if coming from. It's showing my example.com IP as '111.222.3.4. and the www.example.com as '11.222.333.44'. A completely random IP i've never seen before...

For example my DNS records are simply setup as:

    A www.example.com directs to 111.222.3.4
    A
    example.com directs to 111.222.3.4

    EDIT:
Its working now? But, I have no idea how. I re-tried adding the vhost from option 2 and it shows the correct ip this time. Although I would still like to know what it showed a different ip last time. Ideas would be greatly appreciated. :)

You should put www as a CNAME to example.com.

A record is fine for www but it's a personal preference for www

    who's your DNS provider ??

If you just updated DNS, check worldwide DNS propagation at DNS Checker - DNS Propagation Check & DNS Lookup as maybe not all DNS servers have updated

I'm using Digital Ocean for my DNS at the moment. It's still listed like I have above and I was checking DNS checker last night. I would click search, it would show a records are resolving, great. Click search again and boom...theres the random IP address again. lol
