    Hi folks,

    I'm moving a server to a Private Cloud and want to benchmark it. It has a bunch of CPU's and really a lot off memory & Bandwidth.

    So who knows to nice tools to benchmark, (I know some we have) and create some nice graphics.

    Going to post result on forum so you all can see these results!

    If I don't like what I see, I can cancel it. It's a bit into the figures $$$ but would like to hear for our team, wow great or so.

    Please advise ASAP.

    Hi,

    @eva2000 I'm running that private cloud, but got some issues. It has 48 CPU's 396GB or so, but when I created it I took a tiny instance. Now I can only see 4 CPU's and 8GB of ram and a small disk.

    It is installed directly on the node, only user of that node and it's a beast of a machine. But all configs are wrong.

    Centmin does not see all that memory and CPU's. How can I bypass that? Their support tells, start a new one in a cluster, but I will lose most of my work.

    I dont want to be bearer of the bad news, but try to check out machine first (next time around), before doing install. Also consider logging/scripting your steps, so you can easily reproduce on new instance...
    Whoever created VM for you, did not give it all the resources HW has. Also question is, do you really want to give all the resources to single VM ? Would not it make sense to install directly in that case ? (May get some extra % of power that way).

    might depend on what @EckyBrazzz means by private cloud. If it's a pooled resource type setup, then each virtual machine you create within that private cloud is like a VPS and only has the cpu count/memory detected for that virtual machine you create and not the entire pool.

    It is not a pooled resource type setup. 100% dedicated on a single node. Only user of that node. Price start $$$$/m. I'm not allowed to tell more.
