Option 22 - wordpress upgrade php to 7.x possible?

    Hi there

    I've had multiple websites running on easyengine in the past but I had to leave after their latest updates for reasons...

    My first impressions for centminmod are amazing!

    I do however have a couple of questions:

    I'm planning on having a lot ! (150k + per day) visitors, I did a test run and noticed php version for option 22 was 5.6 , which is a lot slower compared to 7+ in almost all benchmarks. Is there any way to get a wordpress up and running with php 7.2.x ?

    Also, what would you recommend in terms of cache for a VERY high load website 24/7 ? It is a website that only has 1 page that shouldn't be cached (for members).

    For Centmin Mod 123.09beta01 default is PHP 5.6 but you can choose alternate installers to default to PHP 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, or 7.3 latest versions outlined on official install page https://centminmod.com/install.html and in beta thread 1st post at https://community.centminmod.com/threads/centmin-mod-09-beta-branch-testing.4128/

    so for 123.09beta01 install with PHP 7.2 default

    Cache Enabler would easier and least troublesome caching method offered via centmin.sh option 22 wordpress installs as outlined at https://community.centminmod.com/th...l-vs-centmin-sh-menu-option-22-install.15435/. I am working on PHP-FPM fastcgi_cache mode too in centmin.sh menu option 22, but it isn't 100% ready so still needs testing.

    Thank you so much for this quick reply ! :) You do absolutely amazing work here.

    Is cache enabler the very best for high traffic ? If you had to run a couple of 200k/visitors a day websites, which method would you pick yourself (in your honest opinion) ? (keeping in mind, we do need at least 1 page that isn't cached specifically for members)

    If you need to serve high traffic non-cached page too, then the choice of caching isn't all that matters, your actual server hardware specs and configuration matter too and may need tuning php-fpm and make sure you use PHP 7.2 at least https://community.centminmod.com/threads/php-7-3-vs-7-2-vs-7-1-vs-7-0-php-fpm-benchmarks.16090/

    You won't be able to serve higher user concurrency on openvz based vps compared to kvm vps due to lack of kernel/TCP auto tuning that centmin mod can do in 123.09beta01 or newer versions for non-openvz systems (see install notes for recommendations on optimal vps/server choices https://centminmod.com/install.html).

    See my 123.09beta01 centmin.sh menu option 22 demo wordpress7 blog at https://wordpress7.centminmod.com/ - it started with wp super cache and moved to redis nginx level cache but has blog posts illustrating high traffic benchmark load results on just the 2GB DigitalOcean KVM VPS. KeyCDN cache enabler has same performance as wp super cache just easier to setup and less problematic for automated install.

    i.e. wp super cache blitz.io test at 8,000 concurrent visitors for 237 million hits/day at https://wordpress7.centminmod.com/7...marks-blitz-io-load-test-237-million-hitsday/ on 2GB DigitalOcean KVM VPS

    or redis nginx level cache at 10,000 concurrent visitors for 302 million hits/day https://wordpress7.centminmod.com/186/php-7-0-1-redis-caching-for-wordpress/ on 2GB DigitalOcean KVM VPS
