Wordpress CEO after WP Engine's head

    I have never run services from Wordpress.com, nor WPEngine, so am neutral on this matter.
    But I can't deny that with almost every appearance from a single person, with a lot of power, is taking advantage of everything to get his way.

    Apparently he plays the record, my way by Frank Sinatra all day long :)

    More and more reports, stories and screenshots are coming out the last days, that this Matt guy, in many ways is derailing. Again I do not know the best man, but there is so much info coming out now right now, from multiple sources, that he has appearances / strange sensations to say the least.

    Yeah did not pay attention to him for as long as I've been a WordPress user. Then this past few weeks just getting shocked left, right and center!

    Seriously think a hard WordPress fork is on the horizons eventually once the WordPress community recovers from the shock.

    If true that Matt makes >$700 million/yr from wordpress.com WordPress: Open Source under a Veiled Threat, then he really isn't bothered if regular WordPress users are impacted by this drama or if folks decide to fork WordPress. It does not change his financial position. And with 43% of the web using WordPress, loosing a couple percentage won't impact him at all - like the Automattic employee's who left over his actions, he would probably be fine with those free WordPress users leaving too.

    Just insane. Matt went nuclear on WPEngine and took the entire WordPress community with it!

    He's effectively forcing folks to not affiliate with WPEngine - if you do business with them, buy their paid plugins, work for them , work with them to enrich WPEngine bank account, are a WPEngine customer etc he wants to damage WPEngine bottom line and force WordPress users to decide this if they want continued access to wordpress.org resources

    His nuclear approach to WPEngine means taking the WordPress community with it!
