Well, this thread is about System Administration, M$ Windows OS is a sistem as every Linux OS is one.

Just bought an expensive new BIG TOWER DESKTOP/SERVER for my business, it is running Windows 10Pro and Office 2019 Pro Plus.

But it keeps Windows, install's automaticly new stuff and even gives a reboot when you take a nap for a few hours, wake up and Micro$oft gives errors

My new machine has supports up to 128GB (now is "only" has 64GB) but I really think I'll be better of with a nice Linux Flavor and run what I can't get to work with WINE in VMware. Now with the new kernel 5.4.x I'll be better of.

    So, I think /dev/null 2>&1 for M$ Windows

@tininho hmm, it has no bloatware, I always format machines before I use them.

Just saying that Win10 always has bloatware integrated, even if the supplier has not added their own garbage. So far only Dell has offered Win10 tools that really do not need be removed instantly.

And if one decides to use it, I think it is better to remove the excessive bloatware and telemetry.

One step further would be checking out the services: madbomb122/BlackViperScript

The error message you provided is not something I am commenting here and can't help there, so I apologize if this is off-topic :)

If you can get a copy use Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC. It's the "Long Term Servicing Channel" or most stripped down version of Windows. You'll have to search around google for how to install LTSC.

Go with linux if you don't need windows office or adobe CC software.

Their system control apps for Windows are far better than on other brands I've tested so far. I am sorry to hear they bundle that on your area.

I recently got myself a new BIG TOWER DESKTOP/SERVER too, and it came pre-installed with Windows 10 Pro and Office 2019 Pro Plus. While the specs are pretty impressive, I've also been experiencing some of those unexpected updates! The freedom to customize and control what updates and software you install is a game-changer. Plus, with a machine that supports up to 128GB, you'll have a lot of room to play with! The new kernel 5.4.x has received some great feedback, so that sounds promising.
