So who uses DigitalOcean's KVM based VPS for installing Centmin Mod ?

Which KVM VPS plan are you using ?

Which region do you have your droplets ?

All Centos except for one Debian apache server for easy .htaccess redirects. One a dedicated ES server and the others web servers.

Had quite a few with DO, this is where I first started using it. My original setup for my live sites was as a 2GB droplet running nginx/php-fpm, and a 2GB droplet running MariaDB, with private networking in AMS2.

I'm using 3 simple droplets with Centmin Mod, enough to host each simple blog/apps

Don't recall exactly some form of Xeon E5-26xx IIRC. But not as fast as Linode.

    So maybe Vultr < DigitalOcean < Linode ? :)
    I haven't tried Linode though.
    Still worried about ddos.

depends on what you're testing single threaded test versus multi-threaded

single threaded, yes Vultr has higher base and turbo boost frequencies

multi-threaded, Linode is king with more cpu core offerings at higher end. Only one provide i know has faster cpus and that is wable.com with OpenVZ VPS plans and Xeon E5-2690v2 cpus

But as you stated before wable has some issues and not good for production?

yeah wable has their own internal firewall of sorts and initially it conflicts with CSF firewall, they fixed it but sometimes I loose access to SSH with connection refused and need to wait a while before logging in again. The public front end of sites still works when I don't have SSH access though.

I got the same error from Softlayer sometimes when site is under high load.

I finally move to DO, so my setup now is:
    1x haproxy 1GB ram
    1x nginx-fpm 2GB ram [ exclusive to torrents updates ]
    4x nginx-fpm-glusterfs 2GB ram [ site ]
2x MariaDB (master to master cluster) 8GB ram

Now I need to optimize them :D

I am leaving from that since my apps run a lots of php and his servers are about 60% of performance of Vultr on mine tests.
I have tested both with same centminmod and tweaks in kernel, nginx and php-fpm (with and without pools) and I got same proportional results in req/s, about 60% of vultr servers.
Well, I like of DO but them need to improve their servers.

yeah DO's lower clock speed on E5-2630L will be slower than Vultr and Linode !

Used to use DO for the first time 1GB, the uptime was more than expected, nearly one year without reboot :)
However, due to failed project, I need to stop it :(
