Where the journey begins...

Hello there,

this is my first post here and here starts my journey.
I am a total beginner of managing a forum/server and let's see if I can manage them.
So, I came over from the Xenforo forums to give this a try.
I am not satisfied with shared hosting companies so I thought of VPS. The problem is that managed ones are out of my budget.
Probably not a good idea for someone who hasn't open his forum yet, but in the long term I must deal with this sooner or later. Or I pimp my budget up but I am a poor maths student who wants to run a non-commercial place, so no funds for this poor soul .

The worst thing what can happen is that my journey leads me back to the shared hosting companies because I don't want to spend my time for managing a server. Anyway, let's see if a noob with zero knowledge can learn the basics, for example installing Centminmod .

Why do you have install guides specially for 3 companies? Is this a kind of an advertising method or does the installation differ from other companies?
