This site's Youtube embed thumbnail proxy

    This forum proxies the Youtube thumbnail, which seriously reduces the load time of the page, and serves that instead of the embed.


    Here is an example:


    My website largely revolves around my Youtube channel and this feature would be very beneficial to me.

    I assume this is custom made by eva, as I haven't seen this anywhere else. I don't see any Xenforo addons that do this, but I'm curious if maybe there is or how I could do this as well.

    Yes you can use an addon like @rdan posted. However, I am not using an addon but just custom coded Youtube embed and other video embeds supported by Xenforo all get the same treatment with a custom Youtube thumbnail loaded for page speed. Just saves worry about another addon :)

    I also apply this by custom coded Youtube embed which is supported by Xenforo.

    I think you can quickly embed YouTube videos into a post or page using their URL. For YouTube you use the video URL from “Share this video” under the Share option.
