Just wondering which VPS or cloud files storage provider everyone uses for backups?

Also whether its done through plugin or shell scripting?

Currently the only backup i have are snapshots of the server through management portal and am exploring options to do offsite backups

I have enough VPSes to do "cross-backups" so I don't have a VPS for storage only but I'd go with backupsy if I needed to or maybe amazon.
For backups I use attic (files) and for databases I use eva's private script (premium area of the forum).

using free version of updraft plug backups up everything files and database.

shell script backups up to local + s3 and then rsnapshot on remote server pulls those local backups to a remote server

dbbackup.sh can save to local + 3 remote ftp locations + s3 bucket so you would get 4 copies of mysql database and if you have rsnapshot on remote server to pull local backup = 4+1 = 5 copies.

shell scripts i use backup every 4, 6 or 8 hours and rsnapshot pulls a copy every 4hrs, 24hrs, weekly and monthly

Usually DB backup on my forum runs under 1-2 minutes, depends on the visitors I got.
And all my tables are on Innodb and few on memory, so I can have the backup and forum running at the same time :).

Yeah it's more for folks with larger database sets i.e. 60-300+ GB :)

How about a query that we can run to alter this option? :D

Disable before doing the backup then enable again after? :)

yeah i do that for vbulletin forum backups but haven't looked at xenforo.. but site wide maintenance page is easier as it's static page that doesn't touch php or mariadb mysql server at all so leaves all resources dedicated to the backup routine itself :)

for me between 30-450GB :) Of course this forum is much smaller... for now :)

This is for VB that is holding attachment as database right? Not file system.
