Maybe it's because it's NEW but I personally prefer the old Linode control panel. The new one will eventually grow onto me but the old one is what I'm used to :hungover:

Updating my preferences for fav new VPS providers in 2018 - all seem to be ones using newer Intel Xeon Scalable Skylake cpus it seems like ssdnodes.com, upcloud.com and impactvps.com :) For existing VPS providers, solid one for me is Linode which hosts this forum community too :)

Some of their benchmark/review tests I did :)

Doesn't Vultr now use Skylake CPU's on many of their plans now? I wonder how they compare to upcloud and impactvps.

Impactvps I've never heard of but looks promising. 20% off for their 4GB plan brings is less than $10 a month... but only in Seattle.

Yeah I use Vultr too but only for VPS/sites where data reliability isn't as important as they still haven't confirmed whether they use any form of raid for the disk layer redundancy and disk I/O performance benchmarks over the years for Vultr tends to lean towards that they don't. I only use Vultr for sites where I have full site backup/restoration automated i.e. some of old centminmod.com geographic locations used Vultr VPS but the site data is 100% automated to be able to restore entire site, nginx, ssl cert etc from a fresh VPS within 15-30 minutes of launching the new VPS and is clustered across 16+ VPS from various VPS providers. So I am not concerned with loosing any Vultr VPS data. Vultr has a great network and network speed ~10Gbp/s is awesome.

But for best recommendations for Centmin Mod users, it will be ones I listed at What are your VPS Providers now?

No low end uses RAID. Simply way too expensive.

With the increasingly expensive IPV4s and hardware, the question is whether money is earned at all.

Set up a startup and try to sell it to an investor as soon as possible.
Is a new business model that you see more and more often.

not entirely true lots of established and well known reputable lowend VPS providers use raid or some form of data safety/redundancy from my experience :)

Have you actually seen the servers?

What they write on its website is irrelevant, it is about whats in the terms.
There is no 'raid or some form of data safety/redundancy' written in the terms of at least the best known low ends.

Of course you can only take their word at face value. But running disk I/O performance benchmarks and tests you can also gauge somewhat too. Linode I definitely know they have a redundant layer as a few times they have alerted me to storage level hardware issues and it was easy as a click of the button to migrate my VPS to another Linode VPS node at 100-200MB/s speeds. Vultr doesn't have this AFAIK or experienced.

Pretty spot on times @Kuro for compute optimised droplets as I use compute optimised droplet 2 cpu, 4gb, 25GB disk for building my Centmin Mod digitalocean marketplace 1 click app image and those are the times I am seeing for that specific cpu. Compute optimised droplets seem to give either Intel Xeon E5-2697Av4 Broadwell or Intel Platinum 8168 Scalable Skylake based cpus. Skylake has faster cpu than Broadwell, but the disk I/O performance consistently on Broadwell seems faster than Skylake droplets.

FYI, instead of screenshots, you can use BBCODE's code or codeb tags. How to use forum BBCODE code tags :)

Just bought a NVMe based VPS from SSDNodes. Install time looks to be on the higher side.

I have been serverless on Netlify for awhile using WordPress as a headless CMS for projects built with GatsbyJS but I just rolled up a server on DigitalOcean to migrate some wordpress sites to for a client who currently uses them as a host and I am enjoying the experience so far. I did lose the install stats though... :(
