    I'm trying to use wordpress rest api, with an installation of centmin that i used option 23 to setup. I deleted the "htpasswd_wplogin" file and commented out the following two lines in "/usr/local/nginx/conf/conf.d/newdomain.com.conf" and "/usr/local/nginx/conf/conf.d/newdomain.com.ssl.conf":

    auth_basic "Private";
    auth_basic_user_file /home/nginx/domains/newdomain2.com/htpasswd_wplogin;

    The authentication has now definitely been lifted and I can access wp-login.php without any password prompt. However, I am still not able to use rest api and when I try to setup an Application Password i receive an error:

    What am I still missing to allow me to use wordpress rest api and input an application password?

    thanks

    centmin.sh menu option 22 by default installs a Wordpress plugin to disable XML-RPC. You can try disabling the plugin and see if it works
