    I have not followed Libressl lately. But is Libressl closer to upstream OpenSSL then a year ago? I.e. Dual cert support, etc.

    Yeah it isn't any closer and in fact to me (not a dev) seems to have fallen behind.

    Jup. Unfortunately, all SSL projects are extremely fragmented right now.
    Started as fork to remove unsafe and unnecessary code, both LibreSSL and BoringSSL, now more and more go their separate ways.

    Sad ...... This does stop the development of new functions partly because forces are no longer bundled. And also unnecessary. You can just remove the (unsecure) code that you don't like.
