    Nice, nice... :):):)
I got 160GB disk (previously 100GB) and raised ram from 4 to 8GB

    ----------------------------------

You asked for it, and we listened! Today, we are launching a highly requested $5/mo plan for cloud servers. This is an especially attractive offer for our new users, who can experience our industry-leading performance with their own eyes for the cost of a cup of coffee!

It also allows current users to run their applications and service at a lower cost but with the same reliability they’ve come to expect from us. It’s never been more affordable or a better time to become an UpCloud user!

    Refreshed monthly plans
In addition to the $5/mo plan, we are also adjusting the resources included in all the existing monthly plans. We believe these new plans strike a much better balance of resources while improving the price-to-performance ratio even further for you. We are also introducing new plans aimed at our users with larger requirements with plans offering 96+ GB memory, 20 CPU cores, 1,9+ TB of storage and more transfer than you can shake a stick at.

I'm getting the same as their $20/month package pretty much from my host, and it's only 7 euro/month. I love them too they're great. But I don't have much experience with too many hosting companies.

    Hello,

Let me tell you that I'm really upset with them : just tested a 1GB 1core VPS and CentMinMod won't install:

Warning: physically installed memory too low for Centmin Mod
Installation [Installed: 907 MB < 908 MB (recommended minimum)]

So they market a 907MB physical memory as a 1GB memory...

I've installing CMM on countless 1GB VPS, for example at Vultr and Aruba, and never has a single issue.

I'm wondering at what point you're legally supposed to offer a physical memory "pretty close" to what is marketed because here that almost 10% missing.

    Unhappy-test-user...

Interesting you just hit under Centmin Mods threshold. I can certainly change it to lower acceptable to less than 905MB. Though with CentOS 7 you really want 2GB as bare minimum and 3-4GB as recommended. FYI, CentOS/Alma Linux/Rocky Linux 8 will have higher minimum at 2-3GB and 4+GB recommended.

@Benjamin74 just updated 123.09beta01 lowering min memory detection for CentOS 7 from 908MB to 901MB so Upcloud should work now :)

Some VPS providers have Enterprise Linux kernel kdump enabled by default which reserves a small amount of memory for creating crash dumps in case the kernel crashes unexpectedly. Verify that the kdump service is turned off. Sames goes for the crashkernel=auto GRUB parameter.

Yeah I found that across some VPS providers as well and there was a reason I had a 908MB low memory threshold. Just didn't know that some VPS would go under to 907MB heh.

Yup. Although a VPS CMM EL7 based VPS with 1024 MB RAM is not recommended at all these days. As 2GB of RAM is the minimum requirement for Enterprise Linux 7 as written by Red Hat itself. Upgrading a VPS is no problem at all and these days a VPS allmost costs nothing anyway.
