I'm not quite sure how I stumbled on this company. Looking for Euro based VPS alternatives during a linode incident ;)

World's fastest cloud servers - UpCloud

I've found very little around the web to suggest they are bad, and a few more tacit they are good esq. comments.

I'm going to explore the setup. Their true private network and inter-dc network, locations are London, Frankfurt, Chicago & Helsinki. If there was an Asia one that would be potentially some cream on top.

Pricing wise they are on paper a 1:1 for the popular vultr/Digital Oceans, but linode runs away on ram ;) Which I like as !ruby. They offer pricing in euro, usd and gbp, handy despite near parity rates.

No apparent support for paypal and other exotic payments, so it's credit card only & manual approval.

Things I'm liking the look of ahead of the trial that are subtly different from other providers I've used:

Anyone have any views on them?

Yeah no experience either. There's always gems for potential web hosts but only way to find out is really use them first hand and see :)

very nice of them to add some credits for you and nice @Sunka looks like a very fast cpu with E5-2687Wv3 and AES-NI flag is enabled :D

ah the time seems a bit off probably due to the server timezone change during installation :)

yup can take a while ~45-60 minutes hence why use screen to allow script to continue even if you loose connection via SSH :)

given the cpus I've seen posted here so far with E5-2687Wv3 and E5-2680v2 looks very good comparable to Linode on latter cpu and E5-2687Wv3 definitely faster. The data center locations also complement Linode's locations nicely for Frankfurt, Chicago and Helsinki :)

yeah post the log like @Colin did once benchmark script completes
interesting so all of their plans are capped at 500Mbps ? That would be around Linode 8G Plan limits while Linode higher than 8GB plans scale more for network connectivity from 1Gbps to 10Gbps
