With Letsencrypt's growth, thought it would be time to revisit the SSL market share numbers at Market share quarterly trends for SSL certificate authorities, July 2017

Quarterly numbers where IdenTrust = Letsencrypt + Letsencrypt. Letsencrypt has grown to 28.3 + 0.1 = 28.4% at number #2. Comodo still grown too from 34.7% to 40.7% marketshare though they dropped from peak of 44.2 to 40.7% . Symantec dropped from 32.6% to 14.1% and GoDaddy from 14.1% to 7.5% and GlobalSign from 10.0% to 4.6% !

Once Letsencrypt starts offering Wildcard SSL certificates in 2018, pretty sure their marketshare will grow even more :)

Still plenty of marketshare for all to grow according to Usage Statistics and Market Share of SSL Certificate Authorities for Websites, July 2017. 24.9% of web sites still do not have a SSL certificate and 34.8% have invalid domain and 1.4% have expired SSL certs. Meaning almost two-thirds of sites still aren't HTTPS (none + invalid domains).
