Currently I'm with Upcloud and happy with the service but thought I'd check out the NVME plans on SSDNodes as they occasionally have some pretty insane sales. Here are the benchmarks from today. Seems somewhat underwhelming.

FYI, instead of screenshots you can copy and paste into CODE/CODEB bbcode too. How to use forum BBCODE code tags :)

Was that 123.09beta01 default betainstaller.sh with PHP 5.6 default or one of the betainstallers for PHP 7+ default ? PHP 7 will take alot more time to compile php-fpm part due to it's features and optimisations - it take up to 60-100% longer than default betainstaller.sh for PHP 5.6. So when comparing the Centmin Mod installer reported times, bare that in mind.

If you are referring to Benchmark results #11003 for SSDNodes - 24GB NVME Performance XL+ VPS, bear in mind UnixBench doesn't have any real basis in real world for overall index scores, you have to look at individual sub tests - i.e. see the notes I wrote about UnixBench at https://community.centminmod.com/th...us-centminmodbench-sh-results.1389/#post-6190

    Network speeds look ok though.

Still if you're using Centmin Mod 123.09beta01 out of the box it uses GCC 8.2.1 compiler for Nginx so you can leverage the performance of newer Intel Skylake cpu used by ssdnode and other performance boosting steps outlined at https://centminmod.com/perf/

Also for some quick tests you can check out my sysbench.sh script at centminmod/centminmod-sysbench and HTTP/2 HTTPS nginx benchmark script https://community.centminmod.com/th...tmin-mod-nginx-http-2-https-benchmarks.14832/

Yeah it was the latest beta install with php7. I'll definitely check out the performance article. Thanks George. I got centmin mod running on my portfolio site and have some solid 1 second page loads. Very happy.

"Occasionally" as in "overhyped false scarcity seemingly every week." I hosted with SSD Nodes for a year because I thought their "once in a lifetime" deal was, you know, once in a lifetime. Nope.

Their CPUs were pretty good and having so much RAM was great, but their strange sales promotions were giving me bad impressions. Ultimately, I switched back to Vultr.

(Yes, I also was on UpCloud for a few months, and then Vultr upgraded to Skylake CPUs).

I also use Upcloud. Prices are good and creating VPS instances is easy as it gets. I also have 2 VPS's with SSDNODES who I have found to be very personable and the service works just fine. The issue for me is I had inquired about something I was doing with FFMPEG and was told that any type of transcoding is against TOS which I was provided to review. They were nice and all that but I could not understand on a KVM VPS why you can not do what you wish provided it is above board and not abusive. I have a Xenforo with Media Gallery with FFMPEG so not extreme at all. Probably will discontinue for this reason.

yup ssdnode's TOS prohibits video transcoding as it's cpu intensive task - seen the issue brought up a few times on webhostingtalk.com forums.
