wow you must have server migrations down to an art form by now :D

So what you doing with the older SoYouStart server ? Isn't that the same server hardware specs too ?

haha 20GB+ files and DB took me almost 10 minutes downtime/closed forum.

Yeah the old server has same specs except I only got 2x120GB SSD and I'm paying more, it's 63 USD + 14 = $77USD month.

Ah I see.. yeah suppose same network transfer must of been much faster >20-40MB/s ?

Strange visiting their forums at https://forum.ovh.us/forum.php Chrome 37 and Opera 24 give me site unavailable on first load, refresh page and works. Seems their https SSL setup needs work as it uses SHA-1 and limited to TLS 1.0 and SSLv3 connections with no support for TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 and no forward secrecy Qualys SSL Labs - Projects / SSL Server Test / forum.ovh.us

Ah just noticed the SSL certificate expires in 16 days !

okay 4hrs after SoYouStart ID validation confirmation and I have new server setup ready for me.. very nice

no horror stories of delays - so all up 15hrs for SoYouStart ID validation + 4 hrs for SoYouStart 32G E3-1245v2 SoftRaid 3x120GB SSD server setup = 19hrs all up from time of order :D

    Mine didn't take that long.
I contact their support after I sent identity validation :)
I think only takes 2 to 3 hours.

Yeah.. maybe they're busy heh. So now to navigate the control panel and stuff - using this SoYouStart server to test virtualisation with Xen and KVM VPSes :)

Yes, I mean I suggest you install it via VNC with a minimal server :D

At install time using SoYouStart partition manager create a raid 0 partition across 3x 120GB Intel 320 SSD, see each has around 130MB/s, so 3x in raid 0 = 350MB/s :D

    Code:
    cat /proc/mdstat
    Personalities : [raid1] [raid0]
    md1 : active raid1 sdc1[2] sdb1[1] sda1[0]
          81918912 blocks [3/3] [UUU]

    md2 : active raid0 sdc2[2] sda2[0] sdb2[1]
          12578304 blocks 512k chunks

    unused devices: <none>
    Code:
    df -hT
