Linode Someone really doesn't like Linode at the minute!

    3 full POP's out of action due to a massive DDOS against their infrastructure. My own server is affected in London :(

    indeed the status forum is littered with Linode threads VPS Provider Network Status | Centmin Mod Community !

    This forum got hit with early Fremont, CA one but seems Dallas got the brunt including Linode's upstream provider too :(

    here's hoping it prompt's Linode folks to look at DDOS protection for their networks and as an offered service. A web host is only as good as the plan of action after their last disaster(s) :)

    I'm back up and running again, so it's taken them around an hour this time to mitigate it this time. Luckily it's late in the evening, so my customers shouldn't really notice.

    Yeah maybe setup a nice dns failover message off network on another web host. I do this for this forum, so registered like only 9.5 mins outage while rest of the outage visitors saw a 503 maintenance page. Much nicer than not being able to resolve to the domain even if it's not the full site :D

    I don't control DNS for spacebattles.com, and those forums are being impacted by the ongoing attacks against Linode Dallas :(

    Might want to look at getting whoever controls the DNS to implement it or if the DNS provider doesn't support such, look at moving to one that does for more flexibility DNS wise.
