Are you referring to kvm or ovz?
We use their Ovz plan which has Ovz for a newsletter emailing server attached to Amazon SES and also do backups from Linode (Atlanta)to ther3

At the time being I'm using a vortexnode VPS with a SSD RAID, 4gb ram, 2 cores and good latency to Latam ( Atlanta).

They used not new gen ones ( dual 1366 ) in NJ and wasn't getting the latency I wanted to Latam so I swapped to Atlanta ( they use [email protected] there) with ssd raid . I pay $7/mo I can ask which cpu's they use.
Recently thye' announced this which might be attractive to some :

"Quad Xeons with 100TB Bandwidth from $50/month! (Toronto)"

Recently switched to Linode and I'm really loving it so far.
Their interface looks a little dated compared to services like Vultr, but who cares about that when their servers are blazing fast :)

Also, their support is really good. I'm still a newbie when it comes to managing a server and they are always eager to help.

Good to know, I rarely use Linode support for server stuff just questions on their features and stuff like cloning vpses, cloning images etc etc.

Sometimes they tell me my question isn't in the scope of things they support, but they still answer me anyways :D

Hi I'm aware aware of such command but something of qemu popped out. The owner didn't care to mention the specs of the node though.

He had some bad luck in a very brief period because of Ddos in their Atlanta facility.
We use Uptime robot and had several reports of downtime which was I believe to have read when there was some American festivity do they had reduced personnel.
Some other minor glitches where when we went from xen to kvm. The process didn't go as expected and they had to manually fix it.
Another bad thing we had with them was that the node somehow went down.
Thing is that when I raised a ticket they said they were already working on it. They had a migration app to transfer us to a healthy node and showed how we were in the queue which was nice and worked very good.
We also had our Ram doubled to 4gb from 2 gb.

Regarding their control panel is somehow odd to see how relatively new brands like DO and Vultr have control panels (as stated before), which are more mature despite linode being old as stones.

Does someone know if there is another way to pay them than credit card? I'd be willing to test them out for myself but with PayPal.

Yes some providers seem to hide cpu specs i.e Vultr heh

I don't mind Linode's control panel as for any web hosts I am rarely looking at them. My eyes and focus are in my SSH client mainly :D

which web host, seem to have lost track of which web host you are referring to ? Linode ? I am using credit card only

Yeah I was referring to Linode when I was asking about their payment. I can verify with an initial payment and then use PayPal :)

Cloud.net is reselling vms of a local provider.
Might test them. Their latency was between 9 and 13 from the ip they've provided. What I really doubt is that they have 1 gig port as they claim. That would cost them like over 10k usd.
It's "powered by onapp". I'll post the offer in a sec if George is not against it. It's from Let

Interesting have been looking at cloud.net for some locations using their calculator it does get expensive for memory and cpus. Especially when you get into the 4 cpu 4gb ram range when you compare to Linode's 4 cpu plan at 8G Linode for $40/month

IIRC the owner of those brands is a guy called Oktay or something like that.

Correct me if I'm wrong but last I've checked they use Incero who don't own any DC. They might rent cages and their strongest presence is in Texas.
The owner of Incero is called Gordon and there have been countless bad reviews when it comes to decisions they take :

Just a quick google search ( from Wable):

    wable review - Google Search

They also have the KVM brand :
Speedy KVM – $4.20/month 1GB SSD KVM in Dallas, Texas, USA

and deal with their biggest customers via incero ( I guess)

And interesting read from a couple of years ago:

What I'd like to be doing with cloud.net is just a quick test to have a local POP given locals are either useless or stupidly expensive .
    Local : Buenos Aires.

For instance this is housing.com.ar 's pricing for colocation:

Prices are in Argentinian pesos (currency is 16 to 1 USD). Bandwidth tends to be ridiculous .

Dedicated is not precisely cheap neither and their network speeds are also a joke and price are insane:

The guy from OnApp told me their ""Cloud"" products in Buenos Aires are 1gig which I really doubt.

For example when I do a simple ping ( most of the times, not always) to non paid Cloudflare domains I'm being routed to SP, Brazil. If I do target domains I know they use a paid cloudflare I get local latencies and AFAIK they just have 1gig locally and we are talking about someone who has really a big footprint.

TLDR: I really doubt cloud.net's port speeds as they are resellers of a Brazilian (web plus)

. So thing is SyT ( local DC) sells to webplus, webplus to cloud.net and cloud.net to me/us which also provides non realistic prices ( too low )

Forgot to mention that importing goods from abroad is a headache because of customs. They (housing.com.ar ) advertise v3 gen cpu's which I highly doubt they could have so easily not to mention they are not a big player.
