Yay CentOS 7.x is out !

Centmin Mod hasn't been tested with CentOS 7.x and won't work as yet as I put in place in Centmin Mod code specific allowed CentOS versions to run with and 7.x is not on the allowed list yet until I have done proper testing :)

From http://wiki.centos.org/Manuals/ReleaseNotes/CentOS7 looks like they're following Red Hat and only releasing 64bit x86_64 version ISO files. Seems only Oracle Linux 7.x will have both 32bit and 64bit ISO files then.

Also there doesn't seem to be a minimal ISO download like in CentOS 6.x ? Update: CentOS 7.0 Minimal ISO has been released now https://community.centminmod.com/th...ment-for-centos-7-x86_64.718/page-2#post-3948

    Code:
Before copying the image to your preferred installation media you should check the sha256sum of the downloaded installation images.

Details on the images is available on the mirrors at
http://mirror.centos.org/centos/7/isos/x86_64/0_README.txt - that file clearly highlights the difference in the images, and when one might be more suiteable than the others.

Interesting statement in bold regarding a direct upgrade path from CentOS 6.5 to CentOS 7.x https://access.redhat.com/site/docu...x-Migration_Planning_Guide-Upgrade_Tools.html

Also all CentOS-7 sources are now hosted at git.centos.org.

Looks like I'd need to configure Centmin Mod's 3rd party YUM repositories for their RHEL 7 and CentOS 7 equivalents

    i.e.

    From Migration tool page https://access.redhat.com/documenta...jor_Changes_and_Migration_Considerations.html

    System Limitations
Hmmm minimum memory needed for CentOS 7 and Redhat 7 is 1GB to run !. Not sure low memory VPS <512MB would be suited to CentOS 7 and might need to stick with CentOS 6.5 32bit ?

    ah nice catch @dorobo :)

guess CentOS 7 isn't suited to 128-256MB VPS installs so need to stick with CentOS 6.5 32bit

And since there's no 32bit, those of use who are going to use CentOS 7 will all have 64bit so no need for this prompt:

"Would you like to exclude installation of 32bit Yum packages?"

Only those who are using CentOS 6.5 would see that. Yes? :D

yes would need to revise that eventually :)

but i think that only comes up with UNATTENDED=n which should be the case as it's UNATTENDED=y by default

Ah from http://lists.centos.org/pipermail/centos-announce/2014-July/020393.html they are working on a minimal install ISO

even a 900+ MB ISO better than 3+ GB :)

ARM release too and 32bit later !

well Centmin Mod is far from ready for CentOS 7.0 right now, working on dual .08 beta Github branches though one for CentOS 7.0 support :)
