Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.2 beta released only a few days after CentOS 8.1.
Looking at the CentOS git where the beta files already been stored.
Again a lot new Application Streams.

We are almost 3 releases away. This is EL8's release 3: *.0, *.1 and *.2.
Because of an incomplete, not updated and not achieved road map, a lot new Application Streams and even not a full EPEL stack yet.

I wonder if there ever will be a full feature EPEL for EL8.

Hmm is it me or are Redhat 8.0, 8.1., 8.2 releases coming faster than their 7.x ones in the past ?

Yeah EPEL 8 is becoming a bit part of the hold up for CentOS 8/Redhat 8 to resemble any real production server if expected YUM packages aren't available. But guess EPEL folks are just finding their footing for CentOS 8 changed environment still.

Looking at the EL release list.
This EL8 release window was or is more or less the same when EL7 was fresh 7.0<7.1<7.2.
And that means an update-service pack in about every 6 months.
After 7.2 it took about a full year for the next update in the name of 7.3.

For example EL 7.8 is in beta since November last year.

When I look at the data quickly: Infrastructure 2020/EPEL-8 - Fedora Project Wiki
In general, Red Hat employees are involved under the Fedora umbrella.
In short, if you ask me. There is another priority and that is NOT EPEL8.
    Little to do with girl-manpower.

seems some of the EPEL 8 yum packages are maintained by volunteers so that is probably part of the delay
