from calculations at Raid 1 to Raid5 (soft) in OVH | Centmin Mod Community you only have max of ~249GB -(9-1.5) = 241.5GB of raid 5 space to allocate (or 241.5/2 = 120.75GB of space on each drive) and you allocated more than >241.5GB raid 5 space there

It doesn't let me use / as raid 5 when i use /boot...

And if i am not wrong i can't delete the /boot and use / with 512mb only as it needs a lot more space?

/boot if separate and / need raid 1 and total of raid 5 partitions (space used column) would need to be <241GB

Yes for software raid (mdadm) The Software-RAID HOWTO

If you want to see all partitions on raid 5, then use hardware raid 5

    Is this ok now?

Does that means that i will be able to use at /home 120GB or 240GB ?

    Thanks

still too much allocated you allocated 214.5+196+8+4.5 = 450GB of disk space, while you only have 320GB (297Gb formatted capacity) in theory. Real left over for raid 5 = 297GB formatted capacity - 3x10 = 267GB of raid 5 space

edit: ha ha now you confused me, yes size of partition column is available disk space and that is under <267GB of raid 5 space so looks good

space used column is meant to be how much space is used by the disk itself

either way just try it and see as you have nothing to loose but time spent learning how OVH partition manger works

But why you say that i have only 320GB as the partitioning is for all 3 disks?

If i do what you say i have 100gb left that i can add only on / raid 1 ..... so i will not add more than 320gb on raid 5.....

As you can see /home and /var is only 150gb usable and not close to 300gb as it should in Raid 5 :(

So i have on the above screenshot :

    /home 100GB
    /var 50GB
    /tmp 4GB
    swap 4gb

They are not close to 320GB able to use :)

    That's what i am saying :)

yes because you partitioned them smaller for raid 5, just adjust them to what you need

Google and read up on raid 5 software documentation and manuals for how raid 5 works :)

FYI, 320GB is technically ~297GB of formatted capacity

I make them smaller so i can have total 320gb on the space used column.....

    Now is it ok?

either one looks good but depends on what you web apps usage require that is up to you to determine

curious, on the add and edit pages can you take a screenshot as wondering how they present the partition sizing fields for you to enter them

Here is what i get if click add partition or when i edit it:

The space remaining is from the two small black arrows as i had my mouse there :)
    Or you mean something else?

This is what i want to get:

But the Raid 1 is 60gb and it should be 160gb or not?

And on the screenshot is calculated as total size 480gb and not as space that i can use so:

calculating the size of RAID 5 partitions plus the 20GB from / is about 230gb and not close to 320gb....
