have 4 vultr instances: 2-New Jersey, 1- Chicago 1-Atlanta. No problems whatsoever except for a CPU steal a few times (that they took care promptly by suspending that person's instance)

Also have 1 $5 instance on Ramnode for development that works great (open container can do wonders believe it or not).

Thinking to try 4GB Linode server for another SAAS website of ours

really depends on your own experiences. My forums here use 4GB Linode but my centminmod.com site is on a cluster of 16+ VPS servers from different web hosts including Vultr for London, New Jersey and latest is Vultr Tokyo instance being added for the geodns latency based DNS

Indeed not many problems for my Vultr instances though I have my centminmod.com site's traffic spread over 16+ VPSes in Seattle, Los Angeles, Dallas, New Jersey, New York, London, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo right now with various web hosts.

Best thing is Linode and Vultr are hourly based VPS providers, so trying both and seeing which is best for you, only will cost you maybe a few hours or days worth of billing :)
