Ah. I thought we had to update to 6.9 or 7.4 then run the command to check for updates to update. basically the default git and curl versions in CentOS 6.8+ and 7.2+ are only versions that support TLSv1.2. So if you're on CentOS 6.9 or 7.4 you will...

basically the default git and curl versions in CentOS 6.8+ and 7.2+ are only versions that support TLSv1.2. So if you're on CentOS 6.9 or 7.4 you will already be using curl and git versions that support TLSv1.2.
