I concurrently test EL8 and EL9 using the same specific installer. So yes you can test it.

But my focus on EL8 beta testing first as CentOS 7 EOL is next May 2024 so need EL8 to ready before that. So EL9 is something later to test.

If you had to roughly compare how ready EL8 vs EL9 is. EL8 is probably ~90%. EL9 ~65% right now.
