Just a reminder that PHP 5.6 branch and PHP 7.0 branch security updates end December 2018 PHP: Supported Versions. So folks ideally need to upgrade to at least PHP 7.1 branch or optimally to PHP 7.2 branch before December 2018.

PHP 5.6 security updates end December 31, 2018 (was previously extended)

PHP 7.0 security updates end December 3, 2018

Nope.
If users still using PHP 5 right now they will not switch and there is absolutely no incentive or reason for it.
Few reasons:

- PHP 5 is still supported via distros with backport patches like RHEL.
- PHP 5 is used for compatibility
- Users have no idea at all and will only proceed when the provider does that for them.

57% of WP Sites Become Less Secure in December 2018 - Search Engine Journal

PHP 5.6 and 7.0, the scripting language that underlies 57.1% of all WordPress sites will stop receiving security updates in December 2018. No security patches will be issued for those versions of PHP after that date, making those sites less secure moving forward.

That could mean a loss of traffic and a ranking nightmare for WordPress websites still using those old versions of PHP in the event of a vulnerability.

The title is very similar to clickbait.
In the sense of trade now otherwise you miss the train.

There are more than enough ways to continue to use version 5 safely.
No reason to panic.

FYI, PHP 7.1 also ends regular updates and becomes security updates only after December 3, 2018 next month PHP - PHP 7.1.25 is the last regular maintenance release for PHP 7.1
