OVH Singapore and soon Sydney VPS https://www.ovh.com.au/vps/#ssd-discover
What about pricing?
Currency exchange: 30% more expensive then OVH Europe.
yeah pricing includes 10% GST Tax for Sydney at least probably why
10%? Damn. Where can I sign? Here in Europe you have the
EU VAT compliance. Which is a ridiculous and b way to expensive.
20% or more is no exception.
Everything is more expensive in Australia ! It's not uncommon for bandwidth overages to cost AUD$100-200/GB yes that is gigabytes not terabytes ! By that measure, OVH Sydney is cheap relatively speaking
25% in my pure country. Shame on my country
They easy way to earn money as country. Do nothing, get the maximum.
Before the EU VAT compliance you could easily buy it elsewhere.
Nowadays you pay your country based VAT everywhere, even in the US.
For example: Vultr, Digital Ocean et al.
It is really ridiculous, buying in the US, paying to the EU.
same for Australian GST tax
Don't know if it is legal in EU, I actually think it is because of the fact that Vultr and Digital Ocean are paying TAX in the EU because they have a dependance in the EU.
Many more American companies doing the same. A kind of Europe sandwich to avoid paying to much TAX as a company.
Of course they really don't care that as of a result of that construction, their EU customers need to pay VAT to. It is all about Profit optimization
As an addition.
Linode, from the same US (like competitors Digital ocean and Vultr) is not asking for any VAT related extra.
I asked them and they confirmed that they do not have to charge VAT to people outside of the US. Because they are based in the US, act under US law.
This confirms my previous story that others have a branch outside of the US.
EU legislation requires that your EU customers need to pay EU VAT if you have a branch in the EU. Theoretically, you do business with a company from your own continent.
After all you aren't gonna count VAT if it is not necessary.
yup Amazon AWS - Amazon AWS Charging Australian GST Tax
Wish you the best. I'm not an Australian but GST does exist since 2000?
Has this law been sharpened, adjusted or did it only take place soon?
Because so many overseas companies in 2017, they suddenly starts to count GST.
GST has existed, just new laws have changed who it's applicable to now
Paying 24% in Vultr .....
