Hopefully I will not miss this script to run later when I have the server .

Am I am for our Canada Server, used for androip app.
But the other one is on France so not affected.

 

OVH FTP backup cannot be open outside OVH network?
I want to mount it on my Linode VPS, but can't connect even on my personal Desktop.

 

Correct, you can only access it via the OVH network. It's pretty useless IMO in an outage. That's why I have a dedicated server off the network for backup purposes.

Exactly the same, just larger (500GB by default). They are just as slow as well, so I only use mine to dump the database backups to each night, which I also send offsite. Just means I have a local(ish) copy to access if needed rather than having to go offsite for it.

 

I was using S3 to dump all my cPanel backups to each night, but it was getting more expensive and using a lot of bandwidth doing ~100GB a night! I just use rsnapshot now to my dedicated backup server.

In case of any incidence, who will monitor the server? For example if my sysadmin goes on holiday and there is a network issue or something like that, is OVH automatically notified of this?

 

On both mine dedicated Ovh servers which are unmanaged they do a hard reboot if they stops answers to ping on their network. With almost everything else its your job to notify them about issues, do some deep test with Ovh scripts in rescue mode etc.

But from inside your Ovh manager you can define some monitors to different things.

 

Wow sweet news. Even in the unforunate event that OVH service in SG does not deliver, I am very certain it will drive competition and prices of servers down in SG.
