Not bad at all. I thought what the heck I'll take box and see. There appears to be a 10d wait on any of the sensible hardware raid boxes.

The boxes config nowadays has enough umph for software raid to be of minimal impact... Given the huge bias in offerings towards software raid, maybe it's time to rethink...

I'd like to think the power is stable, is it?

Everything I've read about their data centers has been top notch.

I've never had an issue with any box I've owned there - all software raid.

We had about 30 minutes of downtime due to not realizing that somehow in 2017 OVH doesn't have auto payments for cards on file... :cautious:

They said they were working on it but couldn't give an exact time for it to be rolled out.

my gut says it probably won't happen. But it ain't hard to setup a phone/calendar alert for important renewals like web hosting, domains, ssl certs etc to notify you. I setup alerts to notify me 1hr, 12hrs, 24hrs, 1 week and sometimes 2 weeks before due date :)

Yea I know it isn't hard to remind myself and they even send alerts to. However, the emails they sent out said nothing about having to pay manually so we assumed the card that we have on file with them would be what they used.

Why even have a place to put a card on file if you can't even use it to make manual payments? We had to enter the payment info in manually as well even though the card was right there.

    Just things that surprise me.

Yeah confusing at first for me too. Probably makes it easier for their cancellation policy ? As to cancel a server at OVH, you don't give any notice. Their policy is just don't renew and let it lapse.

Very odd policies all around. Good servers though.

Maybe I'm not understanding the payment issue correctly, but...

I actually pay when I get the invoice, don't have an auto payment setup. But I have a big banner when I login asking me to setup a default payment method, which I haven't ever done.
