Even on the 500GB of backup space given?

I believe his server would have burst to 1 Gbps.

And they've changed the internal bw - at least on the gaming server I have. It use to be 1 Gbps for incoming and internal and the cap applied to outgoing only. When I checked a week or so ago, now it's 500 Mbps all around. Incoming, outgoing, and internal. Though, that might be different with the enterprise servers.

We placed the order about an hour or so ago. How long does the Dedicated servers generally take to get setup? They claim 24 hours but hoping for sooner :)

yeah it's global cap now it seems :)

Think it also depends on id validation if it's your first time using OVH in each region.

It has been two hours since we submitted required documents and no reply other than automated reply. Kind of ridiculous to take this long imo.

I believe it took awhile when I purchased my first server awhile back. Remember, they have really cheap prices which opens them up to scammers and spammers. Once you get verified the first time, anything else you get will be pretty much instant. For the amount you're saving, waiting 2 hours or more is worth it. Can't fault them for wanting to make sure they get paid and being cautious about checking their customers payment methods. When they get scammed prices go up for everyone.

What I did when I purchase my first server with them was I created a ticket, asking for update about my order :).
Then they reply instantly and activated it :).

IIRC, was 19hrs for me from verification. OVH has a reputation for order delays though i was happily surprised it took 19hrs when folks report can take up to 5 days for response for id verifications :) It's a one time thing though, once verified it's fast.

Just be sure you avoid any of the Host prefixed systems. They force you to use the OVH kernel to get the newer network cards to work. You definitely want to be able to use the Linux distro kernels.

If you want to see how an IPS 4.1 site runs on their hardware, The Pipe Stand is running on on their EG-32 (along with several other sites). The site is not busy, but will give you an indication since IPS is a "tad" top heavy on requirements.

Haven't tested the speed on mine, but realize it probably is slower since i'm also attached via NFS to it.

I've been eyeballing their NAS offering lately.

nfsspeetest i did on SoYouStart backup NFS mount which very closely matches what i get on OVH backup NFS mounts too https://community.centminmod.com/posts/9061/

This is after tweaking NFS configs to squeeze out a bit more write speed :)
    Code (Text):
    backup]# nfsspeedtest -b 4k -s 128m -y
mysoyoustartserver: Write test (dd): 27.323 MB/s 218.581 mbps 4.685 seconds
mysoyoustartserver: Read test (dd): 4468.004 MB/s 35744.033 mbps 0.029 seconds
