OVH is increasing and changing its pricing on additional IPv4 IP addresses from a once off setup fee to monthly billing per IPv4 IP address. This for some web hosts and folks will be expensive! For OVH line up it's going from €2.00 setup fee per IPv4 IP address to €1.50 /month.

Only one of my OVH servers has an additional 8 IPv4 IP addresses, so my cost was 8x2 = €16 setup fee. But eventually the new price will be 8x1.5 = €12/month or €144/yr extra  Still cheap give the average market price for these IPv4 IPs is $50/each!

How are Centmin Mod folks/OVH users here going to be impacted?

I don't use OVH but the IPV4 problem is becoming more common.
Simple problem is that IPV6 has never really caught on in terms of adoption.
IPV4 has become a deliberately created scarcity.

ISP's don't care because they can charge customers more money.
While supporting IPV6 or dual stack IP costs them money network wise. Now it's costing you money. Server providers don't care because can charge more to customers.

All my OVH servers don't have extra IPV4. :)

Yeah not surprised as long as folks can still get their initial 1st IPv4 IP address cheaply, most folks aren't adopting IPv6 much. I honestly haven't either.
Guess 1x IPv4 IP address is enough :)

I got the additional IPv4 IPs just so I can test Centmin Mod configurations with multiple IPs. So this OVH price changing will make testing more expensive :D

I have few servers and site not using CF with IPV6 configured.
Just to divide the outgoing bandwidth from Kimsufi :D

Mine have extra ipv4, but they are for people who pay for the option to have a dedicated IP on the shared hosting.

Perhaps this is the opportunity to take Centminmod to enable IPv6 support on default, im running several centminmod vps on ipv4 and ipv6 for months without any issues at all except the addvhost routine that doesnt support it, but everybody can solve the troubles pretty easy.

This is interesting take on IPv6 implementation. InfoSec Handlers Diary Blog - SANS Internet Storm Center

I've avoided it on my home network mostly along the lines of the above discussion. I am running it on OVH server, but haven't done much outside of that. Not graceful to layout and segregate a network, IPv4 tools and implementation simpler to configure.

Maybe. Though it's will always won't be enough motivation for IPv6 adoption give the default for a free included 1st IPv4 address
    Exactly!
