I've noticed in the last few months that host load/busy indicator which used to appear on each VM's summary page has gone. And none of the standard graphs they offer or thier longview agent record CPU steal.

This was quite useful to easily help determine if the host being underload was an issue for your application. Disappointing it got removed.

fyi, you probably want to graph & add alerting for CPU steal.

you mean moving to a new linode host node or new web host ?

guess if you were monitoring cpu steal, might of helped diagnose that increased response time.

    Well heck yes!

I was beginning to doubt myself, easily done when you only have your own personas to question why load mysteriously appears.

I'm mid reorganising, so I've got bits of logging on different services. I only make one change a day or a week to see impact, last week I swapped from ondemand to dynamic but it was dire. I thought this change was backfiring, it may of been too... But seeing your graphs @Xon, I'm not so sure. I'd not been logging steal at all, I knew noisy neighbours could be a problem, but I'd never really had issue on linode to notice it.

Only incidentally after using glances; I saw it mentioned briefly by @eva2000, did I begin to notice it crop up more and more. Today I logged it for kicks. The worst was a 80% steal outside of this graph.

A migration is 40 mins, I might request one just in case.

    New linode host node.

For one, it makes a galera cluster really unhappy.

Anything above 10% can really start impacting performance.
