Helo, I was looking for the way to implement email + webmail (like roundcube) in this LAMP soft and what a surprise that apparently there's nothing "out of the box" !!

    Is this correct ?

I know I can use any of my GApps or external systems, but I want to have email to have a full domain inside of this VPS.

    Any tips EVA ? thanks

Unfortunately for anything beyond basic Postfix MTA setup for outgoing email, I prefer not to touch as troubleshooting and supporting email related delivery etc issues is something I do not want to do for free.

There are variety of reasons why email isn't delivered and alot can be beyond just the server itself. It's why I suggest 3rd party email providers @yourdomain.com email hosting see discussion at

I also recommend 3rd party DNS than locally hosted so that does make automation for such a bit harder for any locally hosted email out of the box.

With that said, it doesn't mean if you know what you're doing, you can implement locally hosted webmail yourself. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be providing any assistance. Fellow community members are however free to help each other out if they want :)

Of course I do understand all what you mean, I do use GApps, my own cPanel servers, my own DNSOnly DNS cluster, etc.

It's just that I was really shocked when I noticed that there's no email implementation and I couldn't resist to express my surprise regarding this :p

I know how problematic can it be today to manage email with blacklists, dirty IPs, private network bans, etc, but at the end, we're talking about a LAMP server.

Anyway, thanks for your words EVA, I'm a FAN of your project ! ;)

    Cheers !

Yeah it can be a surprise, although I think for 99% of folks, it will be much easier, more stable, more secure and convenient to use a 3rd party mail provider :)
