intel optimised version had the optimisations disabled by default now as while they work on CentOS 6.5, they have issues with compiling for CentOS 7.0 - need to sort that out and figure out where the problem is.

intel optimisations would be be for most modern intel cpus from past 5-6yrs and I haven't benchmarked benefits in ages so can't say for sure...

you probably won't get as much gain for virtualised servers compared to dedicated servers i.e. PHP doesn't benefit much from intel optimisations from what I quickly tested nor will Nginx. MariaDB 5.2.x did compared to generic RPMs but haven't tested 5.5/10. But Centmin Mod MariaDB is official YUM repos so the intel optimisations don't apply.

    Ok thanks :)

I will try the latest 0.8 beta on Centos 6.5 64Bit and i hope all to be fine :)

But as the server is not very fast but it is a dedicated with 8gb ram and some old Xeon cpu i am not so sure if it will be better and faster to use Maria DB 10 or not?
