I haven't used the service below but the prices are great - at least on the .com domains.

porkbun.com | An oddly satisfying domain name experience.

Porkbun is an amazingly awesome ICANN accredited domain name registrar based out of Portland, OR. We're different, we're easy, and we're affordable. Use us, you won't be sorry. If you don't use us we'll be sad, but we'll still love you.

Looks like it's based in the US out of Portland, OR.

    porkbun.com | Domain Names
.com names are $8.58 special right now $6.96.

Looks like they have free privacy (like namecheap).

I don't think $8.70 renewal for a .com is bad. I think that is what I pay at namecheap w/ my volume discount which I believe is $8.95 or maybe higher now.

I had no idea CF had a register. I'm liking those prices.

I'd like more information on how CF handles WHOIS privacy. There isn't a lot of information on exactly what is shown to the world.

Namecheap gives you whois guard free and they specifically advertise that. In fact it's default applied to all domains.

Cloudflare isn't to upfront about WHOIS privacy being free or not.

Here is what I found on the site:
    Cloudflare Registrar | Cloudflare

Under "Key Features" they list: "WHOIS management" which I'm assuming means you can change your whois information if needed and not manage the privacy of the domain.

What's odd... they reserve an entire section on how they are going to give WHOIS information if the right person requests it. Isn't that normally a small link at the bottom of the site for lawyers and law enforcement? Seems kind of odd that they would specifically highlight that fact, like they were appealing to some authority and not to a consumer who, I'm assuming, would be bothered if they wanted privacy and people were requesting their information and getting it. Why would CF put this information front and center on the sales page? Doesn't make sense to me.

After reading the whole page, the only mention of whois is "whois management". If WHOIS privacy is going to cost more like godaddy.com, then we'd be talking additional $$$. I'd like to know this before moving any domains. Hopefully it's not some kind of tier system like some of their other products.

Public whois is a kind of the past.

There is no more public whois worldwide since May 2018, due to GDPR and ICANN policies. If you still pay for whois privacy anywhere you should cancel the service (and maybe change the registrar because they are scamming customers).
