    i just got done setting up my server with centminmod and everything has been great, but i think it started after i set up pagespeed... about 80% of the time when accessing my website from chrome, i get a "this webpage not available" with an "ERR_NPN_NEGOTIATION_FAILED" error.

    If I hit the refresh button several times it seems to work, and occasionally it works on the first try, but like i said, about 80% of the time it doesn't work, which is obviously bad :p

    i don't seem to have this problem in firefox or on IE at all.

    the other issue is that i followed the instructions on http://centminmod.com/nginx_ngx_pagespeed.html#pagespeedconsole and all i get is a 404 on squattheplanet.com/pagespeed_console even after adding my ip address to the pagespeedhandler.conf file.

    i've been doing website admin stuff for my own projects for a while, but this is my first dive into nginx/pagespeed, so i'm not exactly sure where to go from here. any help would be very much appreciated!

    I'm pretty much hitting a wall at viewing the pagespeed console. I've revised my pagespeedhandler.conf to this:

    Code:
    # Ensure requests for pagespeed optimized resources go to the pagespeed
    # handler and no extraneous headers get set.
    location ~ "\.pagespeed\.([a-z]\.)?[a-z]{2}\.[^.]{10}\.[^.]+" { add_header "" ""; }
    location ~ "^/ngx_pagespeed_static/" { }
    location ~ "^/ngx_pagespeed_beacon$" { }
    location /ngx_pagespeed_statistics { allow all; }
    location /ngx_pagespeed_message { allow all; }
    location /pagespeed_console { allow all; }

    and i'm still getting a 404 error when trying to access https://squattheplanet.com/pagespeed_console

    so without that, i'm not sure where to go from here.

    yeah, nothing there, only difference is i get a page not found error from xenforo and not a generic 404 for nginx.

    i edited that line to reflect pagespeed_static instead of ngx_pagespeed_static as you said, but didn't notice any difference.

    also upgraded nginx via centmin.sh, still no console.

    just so anyone knows, i installed Centmin Mod 1.2.3-eva2000.07 about 2-3 weeks ago on a fresh centos 6.5.

    i'm also running xenforo 1.3.1 on a linode vps.

    your nginx.conf is missing one include line for

    Code:
    include /usr/local/nginx/conf/pagespeedadmin.conf;
    put it above the /usr/local/nginx/conf/fastcgi_param_https_map.conf line

    Code:
    http {

    include /usr/local/nginx/conf/pagespeedadmin.conf;
    include /usr/local/nginx/conf/fastcgi_param_https_map.conf;
    restart nginx

    Centmin Mod .07 was beta 2-3 weeks ago, so alot of changes since in .07 final stable release https://github.com/centminmod/centminmod/commits/master

    specific change was on May 23rd https://github.com/centminmod/centminmod/commit/0c6f19d144d6228b6254553818e866d64dfbce3b

    download the .07 stable release to /usr/local/src/ and remove your old files and extract the .07 stable release, then run centmin.sh menu option 4 to recompile Nginx it should take care of any missing pagespeed related files via the pagespeeduptasks function listed at https://github.com/centminmod/centminmod/blob/master/inc/nginx_pagespeed.inc#L306 particularly via lines 396 to 402 check https://github.com/centminmod/centminmod/blob/master/inc/nginx_pagespeed.inc#L396

    line 399 calls makepsadmin function at line 240 https://github.com/centminmod/centminmod/blob/master/inc/nginx_pagespeed.inc#L240 which basically creates and inserts pagespeedadmin.conf if it doesn't exist :D

    woot! ok, it's working now, finally on track :)

    i've tried accessing my website from chrome several times over now, and it haven't gotten any more error messages. i'm hoping that maybe the upgrade fixed whatever issue i was having.

    i have a bunch of 'No permission to rewrite' errors in my message log though. should i start a separate thread to discuss that?

    and hey, thanks for your help, i'm so happy to have things working (as far as i can tell :p)

    well after looking at it today, it appears the pagespeed console is very broken, with no graphics and missing a spdy config, and it doesn't look like any of the screen shots. i'm still getting the "ERR_NPN_NEGOTIATION_FAILED" error in chrome, so about 80% of my audience can't access my website, so i'm giving up for now and disabling pagespeed.

    yeah you might want to disable on live site and setup a test private copy with pagespeed enabled to continue troubleshooting :)

    well, the only solid info i've found so far is a bug report for google chrome here:

    https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=288992

    which basically says there's some kind of issue between SPDY and chrome and the way i have it configured. I've tried disabling SPDY by commenting out the alternate protocol line:

    add_header Alternate-Protocol 443:npn-spdy/3;

    haven't gotten any "ERR_NPN_NEGOTIATION_FAILED" errors so far, but we'll see over the next day or so.
