Really expensive if you have more than 5 VMs

 

I am using Port Monitor - Website and server monitoring made simple! refresh is every minute and is free for a few domains and you can get some free extra by sharing to socials that info

For me working great !

 

Free account offers two domains monitoring but you can:

1)share on twitter +1
2)share on facebook +1
3)Follow on twitter +1
4)Invite 5 friends by email to register +5
5)Back link them +2
6)Create a post for them +4

So you can get easy 16 domains free monitoring every minute

And it is for me the most accurate for alerts as for two years now i didn't get any false alarm

Do you have instances or just free nginx oss?

 

Just started using Application Performance Management & Server Monitoring | AppOptics on my main Linode Box.. We'll see how it goes, so far so good.

After seeing the stats post from @deltahf and his MariaDB issue, it's a great tool to have!

I still have UptimeRobot running with success, so far so good.

Since NixStats went paid, I've stopped using it for now. It was a good service though.

 

..and the APM is extra. So, $20/month for both. Ouch!

 

Yeah, it pays for itself when you're trying to diagnose a problem, though!

It's also the cheapest PHP APM that I've found.

Which stats should I especially look at if I want to have faster vps?

 

Check the "Response Time Breakdown" in your APM Service Overview page. Here's what mine looks like on a Centminmod dedicated server running a large WordPress/XenForo site (4,500 WP posts, 11.9 million XF posts, ~150k daily page views).



As you can see, the sections of the graph show how much time each service contributes to your page load time. For me, it's PHP-FPM which consumes the overwhelming majority of the time. This is "normal", but to be honest I really don't know if it's a good time or one which can practically be improved upon with WordPress/XenForo.

If I wanted to optimize my server further, though, this graph shows me PHP-FPM is the first place I would look for gains.
