    How would I go about modifying the nginx backup script so that it does not contain the usr/local/nginx/html/ directory? Right now it seems to be attempting to backup the entire /nginx directory, including ~10GB worth of my site's content located under html.

    Edit: never mind, I could skip backup by commenting out this line in centminmod/inc/nginx_backup.inc

    cp -a $NGINXDIR ${NGINXBACKUPDIR}/nginxdirbackup/nginx_${DT}

    Might want to read Nginx - Developer Overview: How Nginx is installed on Centmin Mod LEMP stack | Centmin Mod Community to understand how nginx auto backup works

    But DO NOT use /usr/local/nginx/html for your site's files as that is used for crucial Centmin Mod statistics and other admin based directories. See
    Read Getting Started Guide at Getting Started Guide - CentminMod.com LEMP Nginx web stack for CentOS and setup your site on it's own nginx vhost account via centmin.sh menu option 2 outlined at Nginx Vhost & NSD DNS Setup - CentminMod.com LEMP Nginx web stack for CentOS. So just move all your site files from /usr/local/nginx/html to the created nginx vhost via centmin.sh menu option 2 i.e.
    /home/nginx/domains/yourdomain.com/public

    Config backup (confbackup) is even redundant?

    Just to confirm, I can execute this without introducing problem right?
    It's all backup files inside it right?

    sort of makes it easier to include just conf in backup routines if you want i.e. sending them to other cloud backups like Amazon S3 for backups for just confbackup directory and makes Amazon S3 lifecycle rules alot easier

    yeah that is fine
