I'm switching hypervisors, and moving from Proxmox -> Hyper-V caused load to spike way up (.7-ish to 4-6, even with more RAM and 4x the innodb cache size!). No problem - recompile to recognize the new hardware.

I made the mistake of tinkering after a long day in a month of long days, without grabbing a snapshot first, so last night the option to recompile nxinx and php-frm autodetected my php 7.2 install as 5.6 and, well, things went to crap. I reverted back to the original VM after failing to repair centminmod, and now I'm looking at just doing a straight install of Centminmod on a fresh VM, then bringing across the existing data as simply and easily as possible.

Is there a shortcut to doing this, or is the best way to work through the normal install, then sync across files and restore the database? I'd love it if I could just restore a few config files (and SSL certs) as part of pulling the old data off the server, rebooting and have everything be happy.

For moving site data there's 2 general guides where the principles & steps of backing up and moving data is the same just slightly different for
    1. Moving Centmin Mod site data to another Centmin Mod server
    2. Moving cPanel/WHM site data to Centmin Mod server
Those guides move alot more than just the site(s) in question but config files etc. You can use your own best judgement as to the config files and whether you want to move them or just use the fresh server setup Centmin Mod config files as they get auto optimised for the server Centmin Mod initially installed on.

If your old site isn't centmin mod or cpanel/whm based, then those guides won't be 100% applicable. But the general overview of what needs moving and where everything is structured in Centmin Mod LEMP environment is worth reading up on.

Also official site configuration files page explains the Centmin Mod structure of where the important files are so you can decide on what to backup.

    Thanks, Eva.

Yeah, I've been happily running on Centminmod for years, but it wasn't happy with the migration. No worries. :)
