No, all my server are still on 10.3. Pretty solid and stable.
10.4 consumes more CPU and and memory, not sure about 10.5.

Kindly do update us with performance of 10.5 when you make a mind for switching to it and more specifically for performance impact on xF sites.

    Thank You for responding

Maybe when Eva add support for 10.5 install in few months, then I'll test it on new server install only.

What would happen if we update and something goes wrong? Our databases would be beyond fixing and we'd have to restore all databases from a backup after reverting MariaDB to its previous version?

innodb_buffer_pool_instances was deprecated in this version with the following reason:

"Having more than one buffer pool is no longer necessary."

yup among other things MariaDB - What's New In MariaDB 10.5 ?

For MariaDB 10.4 and 10.5, yes only way would be to restore from backups from prior major MariaDB version if you want to revert to previous major MariaDB version

Im using MariaDB 10.4.13 and for testing purposes, i installed MariaDB 10.3 on a test server and i restored a backup of my site.

Everything is working fine, which means its possible to revert back to MariaDB 10.3 from 10.4, at least in some cases.

Unfortunately there's no guarantees and depends on how MariaDB is configured and what features you using. And the statement is in general sense that InnoDB engine versions diverge from 10.3 to 10.4+ so future development work in 10.4+ is done with understanding it won't be backwards compatible with 10.3 and early. So the issue could be something further in the future that breaks and not necessarily now.

Another example is possible doing transportable InnoDB table spaces for import/discard to physically move InnoDB data file/table spaces for backup/data restoration etc. That possibly won't be possible if your working server and staging/backup servers are differing 10.3/10.4/10.4 versions.

Agree, however waiting the newest reviews about version 10.5 from professional xf users like you :D

I hope that, everything will be better on 10.5.x series instead of 10.4 but which minor version, we don't know yet. I think we must wait more minor version for upgrade like 10.5.15 etc
