Centmin Mod 123.09beta01 officially supports MariaDB 10.1 only right now, the 10.2 upgrade routine is disabled for now for more testing. I'd just stick to 10.1

Just read online that MariaDB 10.2 has great performance and make me curious about its.
When i check centminmod MariaDB 10.2 upgrade are disabled too.
Thinking the reason about its. Are there any bug or problem on MariaDB 10.2 like previous MariaDB in early release?

We upgraded a centminmod server manually from 10.1 to 10.2 and it was not an easy, trivial task. I'd recommend to try it only if you have server admin and mysql experience.

However the server runs smoothly since then. We would like to get official support for 10.2 upgrades by centminmod soon.

Yeah anyone with system admin and mysql admin experience can manually update to MariaDB 10.2. Centmin Mod's upgrade menu for 10.2 has a few extra tasks and optimised settings it adds itself.

So there is no downsides to upgrading ourselves and then letting CMM handle the rest when it's officially supported?

Untested by me with folks manually updating to MariaDB 10.2. There shouldn't be any issues but again untested as it also depends on how they configured their manually upgraded MariaDB 10.2 server setups.

Oh dear, these starting service issues with MariaDB seem more common recently. Luckily not using MariaDB Galera Cluster :)
