Is the other server running CentOS 7 too or 6?
I do not have another CentOS 7 server that runs 10.1.9, so cannot test it but I had the same issue before just not sure if it was on 10.0.x or 10.1.9.

Found the bug report:
[MDEV-9227] Both CentOS service names mysql and mariadb exist ? - JIRA reported for 10.1.9 and should be fixed now but it isn't apparently.

 

Upgraded from 10.0.23 to 10.1.10, all went OK

We will keep what happen. Hope will be fixed in the next release this time.
